eBay Australia changed how fees work in May 2026. Store subscriptions became Pro plans, and the rate you pay now depends on both your plan and your category tier. On top of that there is free selling, which can take your transaction fees to zero.
If you have an Australian address, no Pro plan, and have sold under A$25,000 in the past 12 months, your transaction fees are zero. You still pay the per-order fee. It is worth checking whether you qualify before paying for a Pro plan.
Yes, unlike the UK where VAT is charged on top. The 13.4% figure already contains 10% GST. If you are GST-registered and have an ABN, eBay charges you net of GST, so your effective fee is about 9% lower — choose the second option in the GST list to see it.
The plan and the category tier multiply out. A Pro Anchor seller in Tier 1 pays around 6.8%, against 13.4% for the same item on Pro Starter. But the plan costs A$604.95 a month, so it only pays off at high volume.
Tier 1 covers home appliances and technology devices, and gets the lowest rates. Tier 4 covers fashion, collectables, media, sporting goods and tech accessories, and pays the most. Tiers 2 and 3 sit in between. Confirm your category's tier in Seller Hub — this calculator's Tier 2 and Tier 3 figures are estimates within the published range.
No. Unlike the US and UK at 0.35% each, eBay Australia adds nothing on top of the final value fee.
On Pro Starter in a 13.4% category: A$13.40 in final value fee plus the A$0.30 per-order fee, so about A$13.70 before your item and postage costs. Those rates already include GST.
Pro Starter rates, Tier 1 and Tier 4 plan rates, the 3% international fee and 10% GST are published figures. Tier 2 and Tier 3 rates are estimates interpolated within eBay's published range. Confirm your exact category rate in Seller Hub before pricing stock.
